Garage removal brings the whole clearance job into one scope: removing any remaining structure, collecting demolition debris, hauling it away and removing the concrete base or footings where specified. The starting point may be an intact garage, a partly dismantled building or a pile of materials left by earlier work.
Tell us what the cleared area needs to accommodate next. We identify the materials to leave the property, the concrete to retain or remove and the condition required for the next contractor. For detailed planning of the building itself, see detached garage structural teardown.
Collect remaining building materials, load them from the agreed work area and haul away the waste included in the quote.
Specify the concrete area, footing locations and removal depth, with retained driveway edges and nearby surfaces marked separately.
Set the handoff standard for the exposed ground or retained slab, including the cleanup boundary and any remaining work.
Hauling depends on where the debris starts and where a truck or bin can load. Send photos of the driveway, gates and side passages, along with the approximate distance from the garage to the loading point. Identify shared access, occupied areas and paving that must remain usable.
List garage contents separately from building waste, and flag any materials that may need assessment or special handling. Confirm bin placement and any street-use arrangements before collection is booked.
A retained slab, exposed ground after concrete removal and a site prepared for new construction are different handoffs. The quote should state the slab area and footing depth to be removed, the boundaries beside retained concrete and how the cleared area will be left.
Once buried concrete is exposed, any work beyond the agreed scope needs review. Backfill, compaction, grading, new surfacing and landscaping require explicit inclusion; removing the garage does not by itself confirm that the ground is ready to build on.
The clearance price depends on the amount of material leaving the site and the work required below the former garage footprint.
Send photos of the current site, approximate concrete dimensions and the intended next use. These details help distinguish a debris-only collection from a complete clearance with concrete removal.
Identify retained paving, fences, drains and any services in or beneath the work area. Where concrete or footings are to be removed, confirm the relevant service information and locate requirements before excavation. If part of the building remains, the teardown and utility preparation must be reviewed as part of the wider job.
Check the City of Toronto permit guidance for Toronto work, or contact the municipality responsible for the property. Materials suspected of containing asbestos need assessment before handling; review Ontario asbestos requirements when planning the clearance.
Demolition describes taking the structure down. A garage-removal scope can also cover loading, hauling, agreed base removal and cleanup. The written quote should make those inclusions clear.
Send photos of the current condition, remaining components and any known utility connections. The structure and access need review before a removal plan or price is confirmed.
Describe stored items, rubbish and any materials needing separate handling. Garage contents and building materials should be identified separately in the quote.
