A removal scope built around your property

Garage demolition produces more than broken walls. Roofing, framing, doors, siding and concrete need to be collected and moved without blocking the property or leaving a pile for the homeowner to manage. GarageDemolition can include debris loading and hauling in the agreed project scope.

Tell us whether the material will come from a garage being demolished or an existing pile after earlier work. Include photographs, approximate volume, known material types and the route to the loading point. Concrete, mixed building materials and items needing special handling should be described separately.

What to include in the scope

Material list

Wood, roofing, siding, metal, doors and concrete identified so loading and disposal can be planned.

Loading route

The work area, driveway or bin location connected by an agreed route that accounts for retained surfaces.

Removal inclusions

Hauling, disposal and the final collection pass listed in the quote rather than left uncertain.

Access and preparation

The distance to the loading point and available truck or bin space affect material handling. Share driveway access, gate widths, parking restrictions and any occupied areas that must remain usable. Confirm bin placement and any off-property arrangements before work begins.

Agree on the finish condition

Waste removal and specialist handling are different scopes. Identify suspected regulated materials before they are disturbed or mixed with ordinary debris. Confirm what will be collected, how larger concrete pieces will be handled and whether the cleanup includes small loose material around the work area.

Explain the next use of the space and who takes over after removal. If the site conditions differ from the information supplied, the additional work should be reviewed before the scope expands.

What affects your garage demolition quote?

Garage size is one part of the quote. Construction materials, the removal boundary and the route for moving debris also matter. A small garage with difficult access can need a different plan from a larger structure beside an open driveway.

  • Garage dimensions, height and construction materials
  • Detached or attached condition and retained structures
  • Slab, footings and the requested removal depth
  • Access width, loading distance and bin or truck placement
  • Debris volume, disposal and any special handling
  • Approvals, utility preparation and the required handoff

Share photos and approximate measurements with your enquiry. The price, work scope and start date are confirmed after the project details are reviewed.

Before the garage comes down

Confirm the responsibilities for municipal approvals, utility disconnections and any necessary structural or material assessment before scheduling. Identify what remains on the property and give the incoming contractor a clear description of the expected handoff.

For Toronto projects, consult the City’s building permit guidance. Elsewhere, confirm requirements with the building department responsible for the property. Suspected asbestos-containing materials should be assessed before disturbance; see Ontario’s guidance for demolition and repair work.

Demolition Debris Hauling questions

Can you haul waste from a garage already taken down?

Send photos, the location, material types and access details. Existing debris removal can be reviewed as a separate enquiry.

Is concrete included with other garage debris?

Concrete should be specified in the material list. Its volume, weight and loading needs can affect the quote and removal arrangements.

Will the quote include disposal?

Ask for loading, hauling and disposal to be stated in the scope so you know what the price covers.
